Prime 16 allows you to choose a startup screen and a main menu for your own personal use. When you first start up Prime, there will be a default setting, but you can change this. There are five pieces to the Prime interface. You can adjust two to suit your needs. The functions of some of these will be described more in depth in the next section.


== 1.	The Display of Multiple Screens ==

The different screens in Prime can be set as sizable windows or on tabs. Most Administrators choose to display tabs to show the different screens in Prime. That means you might see a tab that says mnuTouch, Client Search Screen and Client Intake. Clicking on a tab will take you to that screen. The alternative setup is to have windows for each screen that you can size, tile or cascade. This choice is set by the Administrator. The section Tabbed Documents explains how to change this setting.

This is what the tab view looks like. Active screens show up on the tabs. Keeping the number of screens open to a minimum is a good idea.

== 2.	The Ribbon Bar ==

Microsoft Office uses Ribbon Bars for Word, Excel, etc. We’ve created a custom Ribbon Bar for Prime. It is always present and you can run virtually everything in Prime using the Ribbon Bar. However, most users prefer to use a startup screen and main menu.

== 3.	Error Checking ==

The Error Alert screen shows immediately after logging into Prime. This checks your open and closed cases (back a set amount of time) for errors. These settings are controlled by the Administrator.

== 4.	The Startup Screen ==

This is the screen that shows up after closing the Error Alert Screen (or if there are no errors it will show up first). It has common tasks, calendar information, a list of your open cases and other useful information.

== 5.	The Main Menu ==

This is the main entry to all the functions in Prime. It gives you many choices for tasks you need to perform.
