Home Screen
The Home Screen is the default web page for the Prime case management website. After logging on (and passing through error checking as necessary) this is the first screen you will encounter. In most instances, when you close other forms, you will also come back to this default page.
Log In Status/Log Out
Your status of being "Logged In" is shown in the top right. You can use the "Log Out" link when you are finished using Prime. Logging out will ensure someone else can't use your browser to look at information within Prime. You should always log out of Prime when you are not actively using it.
Menu
The full, Main Menu interface for Prime shows up on the Home Screen. The menu interface will change depending on the pages open within Prime. Some pages only show a "Home" link in the menu system.
Hold your mouse over the main items shown to see a dropdown list of available items. Click on an item to choose it.
Open Cases
The cases that have your staff number shown as the advocate AND which do not have a date closed are shown in the "Open Cases" box. The total cases shown appears in the header for the box after the "Open Cases" label.
You can sort the list by clicking on a heading (e.g., Name, Case Type (CT), Case Number, Date Open, Days Open). The first time clicked, the list will typically sort ascending based on the entry in that column. Clicking the header again will sort descending based on the items in that column.
Click on the name of the client to open that case file.
To use the "Time/Notes", "Calendar", and "Time" buttons, you must first choose a client. Click the checkbox to the left of the client to select that client.
Then press one of the buttons to quickly add Time, Notes, or Calendar entries to that selected case.
Today's Time
Time entries you've made for today are shown here. The total hours entered for today appears in the heading for the box next to the "Today's Time" label.
To open the time slip entry, click on the link to the left of the entry.
To generate your time sheet, click the "Time Sheet" button and fill out the appropriate entries.
Calendar
Your calendar entries for today are shown by default. The current date, or another data selected, appears in the header for the box after the "Calendar" label.
To open the calendar entry for an item shown, click on the link on the left of the item.
To change to a different date, click on the date shown in the header for the box:
Then choose a date using the calendar selector. Days with entries are shown with a red background:
Once you have chosen a different day, the date in the header will change to reflect that new day, and the calendar entries shown will be for that date.
Internal Messages
Unread Internal Messages are shown in the "Unread Messages" box. The number of unread messages appears in the header for the box after the "Unread Messages" label.
To read these messages, click anywhere in a message shown.
Special Note: To prevent an interruption in your use of Prime, the check for waiting, new Internal Messages is only performed on the home page.
Home Screen Usage Manual
Overview
The Home page is a personal dashboard made up of widgets. Widgets are small cards that show frequently used information or shortcuts, such as open cases, today’s time, calendar items, internal messages, searches, and custom table views.
Your Home Screen layout is saved to your staff profile, so changes you make should remain in place the next time you open Prime 16.
Default Widgets
By default, the Home Screen shows these widgets:
| Widget | What it does |
|---|---|
| Open Cases | Shows your open cases and stale case count. You can search the list, open a case, email a client, or select a case and use Time/Notes, Calendar, or Time. |
| Today’s Time | Shows time entries for today and the total hours entered. The Time Sheet button opens your staff time sheet. |
| Calendar | Shows today’s calendar entries. Click the Calendar heading to display the calendar picker. |
| Internal Messages | Shows unread internal messages and the current unread message count. Click the message list to open Internal Messages. |
Available Widgets
The following widgets can be added to or removed from the Home Screen:
| Widget | Description |
|---|---|
| Open Cases | List of your open cases, with stale case count and quick case actions. |
| Today’s Time | Today’s time entries and total hours. |
| Calendar | Calendar items for the selected day. |
| Internal Messages | Unread internal messages. |
| Quick Actions | Shortcuts for New Eligibility, New Client, New Time Entry, New Calendar Event, and New Internal Message. |
| Search Tools | Shortcuts for Eligibility, Clients, Calendar, Time, and Internal Messages searches. |
| Custom Table View | A customizable table widget. |
| Custom Table View 2 | A second customizable table widget. |
| My Favorites | A customizable list of favorite shortcuts. |
| My Stale Cases | A customizable stale case list. |
| Upcoming Deadlines | A customizable upcoming deadline list. |
| Error Check Summary | Shows current error count, allowed error count, and a link to Error Check. |
Opening Home Screen Customization
To customize the Home Screen:
- Open the user menu in the upper-right corner.
- Click Home Screen.
You can also click the round + button in the lower-left corner of the page. This opens the same customization panel.
Adding a Widget
To add a widget:
- Open the Home Screen customization panel.
- Find the widget in the checkbox list.
- Check the box next to the widget name.
The widget appears on the Home Screen and the change is saved automatically.
Removing a Widget
There are two ways to remove a widget.
From the widget itself:
- Click the x button in the widget header.
- The widget is removed from the Home Screen.
From the customization panel:
- Open the Home Screen customization panel.
- Uncheck the box next to the widget name.
Removing a widget only hides it from your Home Screen. It can be added again later.
Rearranging Widgets
To move widgets:
- Place your mouse on a widget header.
- Drag the widget to the desired position.
- Drop it into place.
The new order is saved automatically.
Compact View
The customization panel includes a Compact checkbox.
Use Compact view when you want the widgets to take up less vertical space. This reduces padding and makes widget content more condensed.
Resetting the Home Screen
To restore the default Home Screen:
- Open the Home Screen customization panel.
- Click Reset.
- Confirm the reset.
This restores the default layout: Open Cases, Today’s Time, Calendar, and Internal Messages.

Custom Table View and Custom Table View 2
The Custom Table View widgets let you create a saved table view on your Home Screen. There are two separate custom table widgets, so you can keep two different table views.

- Click Configure in the widget header.
- Enter a Widget Name.
- Choose a Table.

Notes for Custom Table View:
- The table ID field is always included.
- The table ID field opens the related edit page.
- You can display up to 7 fields, including the table ID field.
- You can enter up to 7 criteria rows.
- Criteria rows are combined together, so a record must match all entered criteria.
- Use me for your staff number.
- Use today for today’s date.
- Use null with = or <> to find blank or non-blank database values.
Available criteria operators:
| Operator | Meaning |
|---|---|
| = | Equals |
| <> | Does not equal |
| > | Greater than |
| >= | Greater than or equal to |
| < | Less than |
| <= | Less than or equal to |
| contains | Text contains the value entered |
| starts with | Text starts with the value entered |

Automatic Refreshes
The Home Screen refreshes periodically while it is open. It does not refresh while you are editing a field, while the customization panel is open, or while the browser tab is hidden.
New internal message checks only happen while you are on the Home page.
