Attach/Link Manager

From Prime 16 Online User's Manual

This allows the linkages between the front-end and the SQL Tables to be checked and repaired. This will work even if the Microsoft Link Manager is not installed and the user has the runtime version of Access.

1) Make sure all of the connection information is correct. The most common thing wrong is usually the Server name because the system comes with Prime’s defaults 2) The next step is to click on Create DSN. This will automatically create a DSN connection for you and save you some time 3) Then click on Test Connection. This will test your DSN connection to confirm that the tables will refresh ok 4) Last, click on Refresh Tables. If you have any errors, you will be able to view them but it should go through smoothly 5) Microsoft provides a Linked Table Manager under the Ribbon Bar choice External Data. This allows you to refresh the links to tables if they are modified on SQL Server. 6) If you want to set up an ODBC linkage to the SQL Tables through Windows, you usually do this: i) From the Control Panel for 32 bit computers ii) From C:\Windows\SysWow64\ odbcad32.exe for 64 bit computers
