Finding the Report You Need

From Prime 16 Online User's Manual

There are three forms that will help you find the report you need. These three forms all have the same list of reports that come for a table called subReportList. Let’s look at each of these.

You can select the form you prefer by going to the Ribbon Bar or to the Touch Tiles. Both of those choices appear below. Let’s briefly describe the three choices and then look at each.

1) The Preview Search has the advantage of being a search screen that looks like the other search screens in the system, such as the Client Search screen. It also works the same way, allowing users to use any field(s) to find the report they want. A Preview of the selected Report’s appearance is available as is a Browse button. Reports can be run from this screen.

2) The Report Treeview Search screen arranges the reports in a tree view. Clicking on a particular table name will open up branches listing all the reports that fall under that table. Clicking on any of the reports that appears gives you a preview of its appearance filled with example data. A Browse button is available. Reports can be run from this screen.

3) The Report Selector Page has the reports grouped in pull downs under the table names to which they apply. There are no previews. There is no Browse button. However, there is the ability to run other reports, such as the Error Alert and the Simple Query Builder from here.
