Many offices underutilize the features built into Prime. This is often the result of a lack of training. Software can do many things, but only if people know how to use it. To better assist users, help is available on several forms, features, and this Help section.

Knowledge Base

Allows for a keyword in topic, keyword in text, and subject search of help articles that ship with the program. There are over 200 topics of help that will show you why the feature is important to your office, tell you where to find it in Prime, and how to use it

1) Keyword in Topic – Enter a word or phrase that would appear in the topic, e.g., Calendar, Time Keeping, Customizations, Lawyer Referral, etc.

2) Keyword in Text – Enter a word or phrase that would appear in the text of the help

3) Area – Allows you to search for help by Area, e.g., Agencies, Searches and Reports, Maintenance, etc.

4) You can print out help

5) Show All – Allows you to see all of the help topics

User Group

This link will take you to Prime’s User Group List Serve. It contains an archive of help and allows you to join the List so that you can post questions for help. In order to view the archive of prior postings, you must first subscribe to the List Serv. It is important that you have your Database Administrator or at least one person from your program subscribe. On the List Serve, you will be able to:

1) Post Questions – You can post technical or user specific questions about Prime and get help from a community of users. If you need a report, before creating it or paying KCW to do it, find out if another program has created this report. They are usually willing to share at no cost

2) Get the Latest – Get the latest on Prime that includes Upgrades, new Reports or Features that can be installed into your current version, information on Upcoming Trainings, etc.

3) Get Helpful User Information – Get helpful user information that will make Prime work for your program more efficiently

4) Get Software Updates

5) Get useful tips – From time to time, KCW posts helpful tips about features in Prime and ways to use them

6) View Demonstrations – When a new feature is released, KCW uses the List Serve to announce a demonstration on this feature

7) Sign up for Online Trainings – KCW often hosts Online Trainings on features in the system. We announce these trainings using the List Serve and give you information for signing up

This link will take you to KCW website. The How-To/Knowledgebase can be selected under Support. You will see the most recent help articles added but to view more, click on here below that list. There are two ways of searching for help

1) In order to see all help articles related to your version, you can choose a Database Type, such as SQL, choose your Version of Prime, and then hit Apply

2) To narrow down your search by topic, type in the keywords in the Search box to find that information on the website

On many of the forms in Prime, you will find a Help button that will give you more information on how to use that form
