Web:Master Case Use
The Master Case feature is useful if you have:
- 1) A single client with multiple cases or
- 2) Multiple cases with a single problem
You can tag several related cases with the same master case number and then keep important notes, time, negotiations or other information that apply to all the cases on the one master case.
Associate a Case with a Master Case
There are two ways to find the Master Case to join
- i) Join a Master Case – If a master case has already been created, click on this pull down and choose the master case from the list.
- ii) Search for Master Cases button – If you aren’t sure which master case it is, click on this button to search using the problem code, last name, and a list of master cases. You can filter this list by open, closed, or all cases or sort this list by last name or problem code.
Tag a Case as a Master Case
A master case is no different than any other case Except that it has been tagged as a master case. To set a case as a Master Case, push the Make this Case a Master Case button. You can now begin associating other cases with it
Open Master Case
Open Master Case button – If you are in a sub case and you wish to jump to the Master Case it is associated with, click on this button. This changes the case that is displayed to the Master Case. Make sure to save any changed entries in the current case before switching to the master case.
Open Associated Cases
<<This feature has not been implemented in the web version.>>
Jump to any of the other cases associated with the master case by selecting it from the Member of Master Case pull down. This changes your intake to the one selected. However, you will NOT see the label change to Return to Sub. You will have to use the pull down to choose the name to return to the original case.
